About Annual Showcase

Our Annual Showcase is our largest and most involved event of the year. It includes 8-10 cultural and modern dances created by members of the CSO, music, and traditional Filipino food. Our entire organization works together to put on the planning of this event, via the Showcase Board, who organize all of the logistics of the event. The event holds a special place in our organization. It is where many of our members meet some of our closest friends during dance practices for the event or is an opportunity to discover more about Filipino culture. This event serves as a philanthropic event for the PUSO foundation.

The Filipino Student Association is proud to present the theme of Showcase 2025: Mangarap (To Those Who Dream)!

Showcase 2025 will be on April 12, 2025 in the Wool Ballrooms at Saint Louis University!

Cultural Dance Performances

Every Showcase typically features many popular Filipino cultural dances, including Sayaw sa Bangko, Tinikling, and Maglalgatik. In addition, every year, new cultural dances are featured!

Themed Skit

Every Showcase is centered around a certain theme and as such, the Showcase Skit is a skit that sheds light on the Filipino-American experience, modeled after the plot of the theme. Skit is directed by Showcase Board Managers and features SLU FSA members!

Modern & Special Performances

Showcase also showcases the talents of our general body! Every year, SLU FSA performs a modern dance, made up of many contemporary pop songs. In addition, this is also a time for SLU FSA members to showcase their individual or group talents. Many special performances have often included singers, SLU's K-Pop group (K:ODE), and more.

Traditional Filipino Banquet

Every Showcase features a wide variety of traditional Filipino cuisine, including Lechon, Pancit, Chicken Adobo, Pancit, and more! These food items are included in the purchase of a ticket and guests are encouraged to get as much food as they would like! Our primary caterer is Tita Estella, who has catered for SLU FSA for the past few years!

Senior Video

In addition to being SLU FSA's largest event of the year, Showcase is also a time to celebrate the current year's Seniors, their accomplishments, and their growth within FSA the past 4 years. To that end, the Showcase Senior Video looks back at the past four years of the current Seniors and calls to mind all the memories they have made along the way.
