Because of the growth of the FSA over the years, our predecessors paved the way of creating “fams” in which groups of Ates, Kuyas and Adings associate themselves. Although this program supports the family-like relationships fams provide, this program does not promote exclusivity and segregation between other fams. AKA’s goal is not to limit the FSA community into smaller cliques, but rather to grow our community through our shared similarities and differences.
Current and future ates, kuyas and fams are called to both guide their ading(s) through their first-year as a member of FSA, and nurture all other incoming members who need a community on campus to feel supported. It is our goal that all participants continue to foster newfound relationships within FSA before, during and after the AKA program, and uplift each other through each and every event.
The AKA Program accepts new members every beginning of the academic year. For more information or if you are interested in joining, please contact our Social Events Chair at fsa@slu.edu.
